Hardware
SHA-256 ASICs (Antminer, Whatsminer, Avalon, etc.) work on BTC, BCH, and HOBC. DigiByte uses SHA-256d — confirm firmware support before pointing DGB ports. Bitaxe / Nerdaxe / ESP-miner boards belong on Low tiers for clean share rates.

Deeper dive for SHA-256 miners on SoloBit — strategy, difficulty, and ops.
SHA-256 ASICs (Antminer, Whatsminer, Avalon, etc.) work on BTC, BCH, and HOBC. DigiByte uses SHA-256d — confirm firmware support before pointing DGB ports. Bitaxe / Nerdaxe / ESP-miner boards belong on Low tiers for clean share rates.
One mining port per tier — Low (61xx), Med (60xx), High (62xx). No hidden load-balancer ports. Use Smart Connect (probe 9876) only to measure hashrate and get d=DIFF; then mine on the recommended port.
Assigned difficulty should produce a steady stream of accepts (roughly several per minute for hobby gear, less chatter for large ASICs). Too many rejects → lower d=DIFF or drop a tier. Stales → latency or wrong coin.
Uptime in the 7-day window maximizes PPLNS weight. The 29% finder bonus is hours-weighted around the find — being online when the pool hits matters. Loyalty (5%) rewards consistent participation. Fee is 0%.
Use the solo odds calculator with live network difficulty. Solo suits larger hashrate or miners who accept long dry spells for full-block upside (1% fee). Watch pool stats effort and ETA for context — not guarantees.
DGB is multi-algo. Network difficulty on SoloBit is the SHA-256d lane, not the rotating tip difficulty. That is why DGB “network diff” looks large compared with random block explorers that show the current tip algo.
HobbyHash Tri-PoW races SHA, KawPow, and RandomX. SoloBit pools contribute on SHA. Difficulty shown is SHA-oriented so your ASIC odds stay meaningful.
